Tipness Tuesday: Post Workout Meals

I hope your Tuesday is a little brighter than your Monday was! Even though it’s refreshing to get back into a routine, it’s also a little tough after a weekend of indulging for Thanksgiving! 🙂

The holiday season is filled with good foods, family and friends; but it’s easy to get off track with nutrition and fitness. This is a reminder to keep your workouts short and sweet and your meals healthy and nutritious! Check out this do-anywhere HIIT workout that’s perfect for all your holiday travels!

What do you eat post workout?

Let’s get down to business! Post workout meals are probably just as important as breakfast! These meals should be filled with carbohydrates and proteins, but also pack a micronutrient punch!

Micronutrients are usually overlooked when it comes to fitness nutrition, but they play a key role in recovery time and in muscle repair. Vitamins, minerals and amino acids are just as important to our bodies as carbs, fats and proteins!

After a workout our bodies need carbs and proteins along with vitamins minerals and amino acids for the best recovery!

Keeping it plant-based is key for a good post workout meal to pack all of those essential micronutrients into your body.

List of Perfect Post-Workout Meals:

  • Smoothies
  • Oatmeal
  • Pancakes
  • Scrambles

Almond Butter & Fruit Oats

Oatmeal: Full of carbs and Vega protein and topped with fruits to keep you full!

Protein Pancakes

Pancakes: Banana and ground oat based mixed with Vega protein this meal is not only nutritious, but delicious!

Tofu Scramble on toast

Scrambles: Tofu, veggies with taters or on toast makes a savory and healthy meal for you and the whole family!
