If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, then you know that I am a strong believer that every person has different needs according to their own body. Some people can run off of 4 hours of sleep and some need more like 10 hours! Some people need more protein or fats in their diet than others.
It’s your job to get to know your body and how it functions best. The best way to find out more about your body is to try new things! I was nervous about cutting animal products out of my diet since I am big into the weights; but I soon found out that I was actually lifting heavier and recovering faster by consuming plant based foods!
One thing that I make sure to do on lifting days is to supplement my protein. On a day when I don’t use a protein supplement I still hit about 50-60 grams of protein which is plenty for my body size. But when I lift weights or do a higher impact workout, I have noticed that I my muscles really like when I fuel up with a protein shake!

Vega Clean Protein is a simple and powerful protein source that has a super smooth texture compared to other plant protein powders out there. This is my fav “shake-and-go” protein on days when I’m just too busy to plan out my meals or when I’m traveling and don’t need the extra “fluff” of the sport protein. It’s also just a little less $$ than the sport protein, however you do get 4 less servings.
Flavors: chocolate and vanilla. There are only 2 flavor selections for the Clean Protein, but still I have to say that the chocolate flavor is the best of the two! Also, that’s just my opinion 🙂

Vega One is packed with so much amazing ingredients that you really can’t find all in one place anywhere else. The only about Vega One is that it’s really grainy and not good just mixed with water. You definitely need to have time to blend this one up in a smoothie. Another great way to use Vega One is to mix in with some homemade bars! Check this recipe for my current fav bar recipe! The downside to this product is the cost. It’s definitely on the higher end of the scale and might not be worth it for some people.

Vega Protein & Greens is very similar to Vega One in the sense that it’s definitely better when mixed with smoothies or bars. Check this recipe for my current fav bar recipe! It’s not as grainy and Vega One and still contains tons of micronutrients and greens and is definitely less expensive on the wallet.
Flavors: berry, chocolate, vanilla, tropical, natural, and coconut almond. I have only tried that vanilla and berry flavors and they are both awesome mixed with smoothies! Berry is my FAV!

I currently am keeping Vega Sport Protein-Chocolate and Vega Protein & Greens-Berry on hand. The Sport Protein is the best overall value because it includes those extra BCAAs, Glutamine, and probiotics. Plus, it actually tastes good just mixed with some cold water and still has a great texture. The Protein & Greens is awesome mixed with smoothies, pancakes, and bars! It’s just what you need to give yourself a little extra protein and greens in your diet without costing you a fortune like the Vega One.

So it’s great to bring along some fast and nutritious protein and micronutrients in shake form.
