Discovering these Magical Gems…
So I’m a full-time nanny, during your average working hours, which is great; because it gives me a little downtime during naps or preschool and such to work on this passion blog I’ve created! Sometimes I’m even able to get a little grocery shopping done when I run errands for the nanny family, win-win!
The last time I was at the store (Fresh Thyme – there’s a new one in my neighborhood and I’m so stoked!) I stumbled across the most amazing vegan pancake mix!! All you need is to do is mix it with water and you’ve got yourself some basic vegan pancakes! It’s not considered a “whole food” (which is what I prefer to stick to 90% of the time) but the ingredient list is short and all organic!
It’s completely okay to indulge in some easy and delicious foods every once in awhile. I usually use the blender pancake recipe from my vegan starter guide ebook on Sunday mornings, but after I found these, it’s been so easy whip these delicious gems together!
Plant Based Protein
I always add a little protein to my pancakes, because why not?! So these pancakes are only 2 ingredients! Vega Sport Protein (vanilla flavored) and the magical pancake mix plus just a little water until your desired thickness is created.
Vega Sport Performance Protein is probably my favorite “post-workout” protein. It’s the best refuel due to the Branch Chain Amino Acids, which aid in muscle retention and fat burning after you’ve finished your workout, and the high protein content. The Glutamine is great for recovery and immunity. 30 grams of protein will keep your going for a few hours and the fats in the mix will help keep you full.
