Peanut butter makes me so happy and warms my soul. I literally will eat it on or with anything! Adding peanut butter to smoothies and this chocolate pb protein shake! It’s definitely a game changer and will be your new fav addition after trying this recipe.
Guess what else will be a huge game changer for you: Peanut Powder (find on Amazon or at most grocery stores, Jiff is usually the best deal compared to PB2 or other brands)
Peanut Powder Facts:
Peanut powder has one huge benefit for using in smoothies and shakes versus peanut butter. The oils are extracted leaving you with a powder that contains 85% less fat than regular peanut butter!
However, peanut powder should not be used as a peanut butter replacement! There are directions on each package on how to make the powder back into peanut butter, but please, just stick to using the powder in smoothies or shakes.
Why? Well when you extract the oils from the peanut butter, all of the vitamin E is also extracted, since vitamin E is fat soluble; which is also why peanut butter and almond butter are so healthy for us! The fat in the nut butters is what keeps us feeling satisfied too!
Don’t ditch the nut butters all together, but use the powder in your smoothies and shakes for the extra flavor protein and without all the extra fat.

This recipe calls for the chocolate protein powder flavor, but if you prefer vanilla shakes just sub for some Vanilla Vega One or Protein & Greens.
Chocolate PB Protein Shake
- 1 serving of Vega One Chocolate
- 1 serving of Jiff Peanut Powder
- 2 ripe frozen bananas
- 1/2 Cup almond milk
- 1/2 Cup water
Add all the ingredients to the blender and turn on high until well blended. Serve in your fav glass or cup!
