On to the recipe!
I’m currently sitting here in my living room writing this post for Blogmas and I’m feeling a little uninspired. I love being real with you guys and sharing exactly what’s on my mind, so there you have it!
I wanted to come up with some good storytelling for this Cranberry Apple Cider recipe (like some cute Christmas story from my childhood) but I’m just having a block in my brain right now!
What I can preach to you right now is all things wellness! And this Cranberry Apple Cider recipe is probably the best sugar-free holiday drink you can whip up!
Cranberry Apple Cider with Cinnamon
Heck yes you can make this in a crockpot! All you need for this recipe is some apples, a bag of cranberries (best of they are in season – aka holiday season!), and a cinnamon stick (or two)!
Roughly chop the apples and toss them in the crockpot along with the cranberries straight from the bag. Add one cinnamon stick for a little flavor or add two if you are cinnamon obsessed. Fill the rest of your crock pot with water and turn that baby on high!
Let the fruits ‘steep’ in the crockpot for at least 4 hours or until you see a bold pink/red color in the water. Drink warm or chilled over ice! Even add a splash of gin to better tolerate those holiday crazies in your family 😉
Pro Tip: Save the cooked fruit in your blender and make some cranberry applesauce!
Cranberry Apple Cider
Warm & refreshing all at the same time
- 4-5 Apples
- 1 17 oz bag of Cranberries
- 1-2 Cinnamon Sticks
- 4-5 cups Water
- 1/4 cup Coconut Sugar (optional)
- Wash the apples and cranberries.
- Roughly chop the apples and add to the crockpot, empty the cranberry bag into the crockpot, and add 1-2 cinnamon sticks.
- Pour water over the top of all the ingredients until your crockpot is full. Should be about 4-5 cups of water.
- Turn the crockpot in high and allow the fruit to cook/steep for at least 4 hours or until you can see a bold red/pink color in the water.
- Drain the water into a jar or jug and serve warm or chilled over ice!
Save the cooked fruit and blend up into some homemade cranberry applesauce!
Use as a mixer with gin!
