I get this question ALL the time from clients and friends, “Does my chart tell me what I should eat?” and it’s hard to give a strict yes or no answer!

Your unique Human Design chart gives us a ton of information about your authentic self – or your soul’s genetics. It shows us who your soul came to be and how your soul flows best with the rest of these earthly souls around us.

What you chart does tell us about eating is how you should eat. This can be found out based on your Energy Type (which I talked about in this post) and your variable (the arrows in your chart).

Eat from the Earth

Human Design does give us some guidelines on what to eat. The theory is that everything we were meant to eat is all around us and can be found in nature.

The most abundant foods found in nature is fruits and vegetables. This includes everything under the sun! Berries, melons, root veggies, leafy greens, squash, citrus fruits, ect.

The least abundant foods found in nature is nuts, seeds, grains, some animal meat. This includes things like almonds, cashews, rice, oats, beans, lentils, poultry, fish, etc.

Avoid foods that are not present in nature or foods that are not meant for consumption. These include processed foods, animal products, etc.

Let’s talk about animal products…

When I say “found in nature” I mean found in nature without the farming of humans taken into account. I understand that grains have been grown and harvested a lot more than other foods, but this is due to the demand for it.

Which leads to to animal agriculture… We grow grain for animals like it’s going out of style, just for the privileged to consume more steak and burgers than their bodies can handle. If all the grain fed to animals was given to people instead, we could LITERALLY solve world hunger.

So, why does Human Design include some animal meat? The reason is traditionally based on survival and geographical location (i.e. some communities live where they cannot grow sufficient foods and survive off fishing and / or hunting).

Please note that mammals are not included (such as cows, pigs, dog, cat, lamb, etc). We, as humans, are mammals. Other mammals are not here for our consumption but they are here to teach us compassion and unconditional love. Start thinking about all animals as you do your beloved pets.

Start Thriving!

Why just survive when you can thrive? We as a species have evolved in such a way that we do not need to rely on our geographical location to determine out diet anymore. There is an abundance of vegan food offered all over the world now that give us sufficient nutrients, fights cancer, inproved lobido, clears skin, and so much more! A new age is approaching, go vegan!

Know & Honor Yourself

With all of this said, make sure to know and honor yourself. Know that there is no single “perfect diet” out there. Each and every one of us has unique genetics based on our genes, AND energetics based on Human Design.

Know your body. Learn how certain foods make you feel. What do you know is healthy and unhealthy? Listen to what you are craving and allow you body to tell you what it needs. Sometimes those cravings are your body telling you it’s deficient in a certain micronutrient or what you need more water or sleep.

Honor your soul. Always honor your soul by doing whatever lights you up and brings you into alignment. Maybe a rigid vegan diet isn’t right for you and maybe it’s the best thing ever! You’ll never know until you try it out for a ride.

Eat what’s best for you body AND makes you soul sing!
